About

YarnCon 1 CraftyMomBlog has been around since 2007, but changed hands in December, 2009. The goal of this site is to help busy moms have a place to find simple, but fun crafts that they can do in their spare time, including their children in crafting when possible. Spending time crafting is a relaxing past-time, that can also be rewarding… when you see that finished project that you made with your own hands! Take the time to work on “the new creative you” and see what can happen!

The current owner and writer of this site is Alicia H. Tucker, who was brought up crafting by her beloved grandmother. “Mommom” felt that she would benefit from learning “patience” through crafting as a child. She was exposed to a wide variety of crafts from a very early age and now teaches her children all of the crafting techniques she learned as a child and through her teen and adult years. Most importantly, she hopes to pass onto her children (and her readers), the love of crafting and the creative thinking processes that develop as you spend time crafting.

Currently, she lives in South Carolina with her husband and three children. She formerly was a public school teacher, but after being diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis 5 years ago, has not been able to work outside of the home. So, for now, she enjoys raising her children, while having ample opportunities to share her crafting passions with her “three little monkeys.”

When she is not spending time with the kids, she runs a couple of websites besides this one, one of which being her Web Hosting and Design Shoppe . She also works part time for two very talented VA’s (Virtual Assistants), Tricia and Christina. When she is able to find spare time, she enjoys crafting (of course… lol), reading, writing (with one book to soon be published in print soon), and video games.
